Given to Empress Josephine somewhere between 1804 to 1810, the elaborate Norwegian Emerald and Diamond Parure was designed by one of the most prominent jewelers in Paris, Marie Etienne Nitot and Son, Francois Regnault. Napoleon had a great admiration for their creative abilities and was emotionally invested in the restoration of artisan crafts, the arts, and cultural influence in Paris, one of the many devastating effects of the French Revolution.
